Hackers Are
Starting To Use Your Wireless Internet Against You
Today's hackers are getting smarter at taking advantage of others, and
technology is making it easier for them.
Hackers have begun using your
Wireless internet connection to strip information from your
computer. With a laptop and a simple wireless card, people are
driving through neighborhoods and connecting to wireless
networks installed in your homes.
A connection to your wireless
can usually occur curbside down the street from your home, and
even a block or more away from your street.
Once connected to the wireless
in your home, a hacker can look at any computer running and
attempt to remove personal data. This can happen while you are
actually on your computer without your knowledge.
Things commonly accessible in
your computer would include:
- Credit Card Numbers
- Bank Account Routing
Information
- Personal Emails
- Pictures of your family
- And usually enough
information to commit identity theft that would affect you
for years.
Even most of today's common
security such as "WEP" is no longer safe and can be broken in
minutes.
Your only defense, and comfort
for financial safety while owning your wireless, is to make sure
it is secure.
